Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22
In the last few years, we have had the opportunity to respond to the need for consulting of individuals and ministries in order to help them go through hard personal circumstances or interpersonal conflict. We have also supported ministries abroad by assisting them with guidance in the midst of ministry transitions as well as with developing of current ministry strategies and vision for the future.
Our consulting work is undergirded as much by our theological as by our professional counseling training. We use our counseling skills in order to gain better insight into situations and problems all the while remaining solidly biblical and theological in our understanding of ministry, interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, and personal growth.
“Plans fail for lack of counsel…” (Proverbs 15:22a). One of the biblical characters who stands out as much with his wisdom as with his timely counsel is Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses. Jethro’s advice is eye-opening to Moses and saves him much frustration as he continues responding to God’s call in ministry (Exodus 18). Proverbs 27:9 assures us that “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one’s friend springs from his earnest counsel.”
Our future ministry plans include consulting indigenous churches and parachurch ministries in Eastern Europe and other countries.
Our abundant cross-cultural awareness and experience allow us to be a good resource for Western missionaries and organizations as well. We are able to provide professional consulting for the following circumstances:
- Difficult personal or ministry circumstances
- Need of professional consulting for your church or organization in times of transition
- Team building and development
- Developing of mission and ministry strategy
- Church, team, or organization interpersonal conflict management
